Josh is native of Texas, has three children, and has been married for the past 17 years. Josh began martial arts at the age of 8, first studying Taekwondo for a few years and American Kickboxing for a short time. He would later go on to learn a mixture of martial arts at Fort Benning’s Army Combatives School, which is where he was first introduced to Jiu-Jitsu. Josh would go on to train informally both in and out of the military until 2009 when he began formal instruction under black belt Jordan Rivas.
A sometimes competitor, Josh’s core focus as an instructor remains rooted in the practical, combative aspects of Jiu-Jitsu.
Currently, Josh has a degree in Law Enforcement and is pursuing two undergrad degrees in both Criminology and Psychology.
